Erskine, Hall & Coe is pleased to announce that our Claudi Casanovas: Quart Minvant exhibition is now open and viewable daily at the Fitzrovia Chapel through the 23rd of July.
Our private view was well attended last night by collectors and enthusiasts of Casanovas's work. Quart Minvant is Casanovas's third solo exhibition with us and consists of six new stoneware sculptures. As the final instalment in a body of work, 'The Lunar Cycle,' Quart Minvant follows the Lluna Nova and Quart Creixent chapters of the series, which were produced in 2013 and 2014, respectively. Casanovas has written of Quart Minvant:
"I am exploring the notion of emptiness. I am seeking to participate within emptiness. The pieces, which contain the form of an arch, refer to a metaphorical journey, a moment in balance, which ultimately alludes to life: life in its final evanescence and its promise of completeness." (Claudi Casanovas, 2017)
Our visitors are encouraged to explore Lluna Nova and Quart Creixent at our gallery, which are on display in conjunction with our exhibition at the Fitzrovia Chapel.
To coincide with our exhibition, we are also presenting a new hardback monograph (332 pages): Claudi Casanovas Ceramics: 1975 - 2015.
